How can I complain about the cold weather when I know it means my wife will be bringing out the crock pot and preparing dinners that seem right for the situation.  Of course, aside from the satisfaction of enjoying these hearty meals…..the smells in the house linger and can almost drive you crazy with anticipation; as was the case on Saturday as I watched football all day.  During halftime of the 49ers game on Saturday, we sat down to a delicious meal of lamb shanks that had slowly simmered for most of the day in the crock pot.
