Swiss Bliss
Coming soon to Andronico's is a wonderful aged cheese called Winzer Classic. Hand-produced in five small Swiss dairies, it is a semi-hard, part-skim Swiss cow's milk cheese that is crafted using traditional methods, and refined with a special blend of ingredients that include alpine herbs and Valais red wine. Winzer Classic is carefully aged for a period of 4-6 months and cured with wine, preventing the cheese from drying out and lending it a taste that is aromatic and tangy. The incredibly unique flavor, signature grape stamp and dark outer skin make this cheese truly distinctive. Winzer Classic is complemented with a full-bodied white Bordeaux, Alsace Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, dry Riesling, southern Italian wine, dry sherry or vintage white Rioja.
An Italian Indulgence
This incredible raw sheep's milk cheese with black truffles comes to us from the Italian island of Sardinia. What sets the Moliterno Pecorino with Black Truffle apart from other cheeses is the fact that the Moliterno is aged before the truffle paste is infused, allowing the cheese to develop its own distinctive character. To prevent weight loss during the aging process, oil and vinegar are applied to the
cheese's rind. The truffles, visible in the beautiful black veins of the cheese, permeate the entire paste with their sublime flavor. Balanced, and with a pleasingly strong flavor, Moliterno Pecorino with Black Truffle goes best
with an earthy, bold Italian red.
